Mobcoder is an ISO 27001:2013 & CMMI level-3 appraised mobile app development company based in Seattle (USA) & Cobham (UK). We were incorporated in 2014 with the vision to transform the mobility world and change the way businesses operate, with just a click of a button. We have assisted companies globally in enhancing their growth trajectory through applications built on next-gen technologies such as AI, IoT, & AR/VR. As the co-founder of Mobcoder, my responsibilities encompass strategic planning, outlining the roadmap for the future, and ensuring that every resource receives adequate support and a conducive environment to deliver optimal results.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
In essence, the motivation for establishing Mobcoder was to realize a technical vision aimed at assisting start-ups and enterprises in launching their businesses in the digital realm. The primary focus is to create intuitive and interactive mobile and web applications that facilitate the free expression and development of ideas. What began as the vision of three individuals is now supported by a team of over 50 technical experts who share the same passion.
What are your company's business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Mobcoder adopts a flexible model tailored to meet the requirements and budgetary considerations of our clients. We maintain an in-house digital team comprised of developers, designers, testers, and project managers. Depending on client preferences, we offer teams to collaborate with them. Our in-house model includes options for fixed cost, hourly cost, and monthly cost based on resource expertise, while our third-party model is limited to monthly cost per resource.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Our development methodology represents a significant value addition for our clients. The meticulously crafted digital processes not only enable our clients to develop scalable applications but also assist in shaping their business strategies. We transform an idea into a prototype by strategizing new features and creating a forward-looking plan that equips our clients with a competitive edge. As a technological partner, we provide comprehensive support and strategic solutions rather than merely addressing immediate needs.

To enhance the usability of an app, we prioritize a thorough understanding of the target users' in-app behavior patterns and psychological motivations. Throughout this process, we consider several aspects, including error-free functionality, context of use, simple navigation, clear and concise content, minimal scrolling, and landscape orientation.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right framework for an app design?
Mobcoder engages in a thorough evaluation process prior to selecting a specific framework for app design, aiming to deliver an optimized solution. The factors we take into account include the nature of the business, target demographics, budget, and technology. Additionally, we consider all requirements articulated by the product owner.
Which framework do you suggest your clients go for when they approach you with an idea? Why?
I have previously addressed this question. Allow me to clarify: each app and business possesses unique characteristics. Consequently, we recommend the most suitable platform only after gaining a comprehensive understanding of the app's purpose, the intended timeline, and the end-user demographics. Therefore, grasping the client's requirements is paramount before suggesting any platform.
Android or iOS— which framework is best to use to build your app design? What are your recommendations?
Our expertise covers both platforms; however, we tend to recommend iOS. Each platform has distinct attributes, and the choice depends on several factors such as target market, users, app features, ease of development, and cost.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of mobile app design?
As previously mentioned, every app model is unique, and so is its cost. At Mobcoder, we begin by analyzing all requirements to establish a clear estimate. If the pricing remains ambiguous, we incorporate costs following wireframe analysis.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
Our payment structure is flexible and tailored to the project's requirements. In the case of a fixed cost model, the project is segmented into milestones, with payments released upon the successful completion of each milestone.
Do you take in projects which meet your essential budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we do maintain a minimum project requirement of $10,000. However, if a project is strategically significant for our organization, potentially enhancing our portfolio or establishing long-term collaborative relationships with the client, we can consider undertaking such a project.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
In 2019, we engaged in various projects, with the price range fluctuating from $15,000 to $200,000.
