Executive Interview of Vasundhara Infotech LLP

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Vasundhara Vision is a well-established IT Company located in Surat. We have built our reputation by providing exceptional firmware technology and innovative software solutions. Our company develops mobile applications, including Android Development, iOS Development, Web Design, Web Development, SEO Optimization, Logo Design, and more, for clients globally. Our team comprises over 35 professional mobile developers, 15 professional designers, 10 web developers, and 10 professional game developers, all dedicated to delivering high-quality code, design, functionality, and user-friendliness in every application and service we offer. Each application and service is custom-made, leveraging the latest methods and technologies, ensuring scalability to meet any demand. We have collaborated with clients for over six years, including partners from Canada, the USA, the UK, and numerous other countries.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
I began my career as an Android developer in 2012. Observing the technological landscape, I recognized significant opportunities in mobile development services, which prompted me to establish the company in 2013. We are currently operating with a workforce exceeding 100 employees.
What are your company’s business model–in-house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
When I founded the company in 2013, we were engaged in 100% outsourcing. As of 2018, our model has evolved to 80% in-house product development and 20% outsourcing.
How is your business model beneficial from a value-added perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Many companies impose substantial charges once the product has been delivered; in contrast, we only charge for the services related to any additional functionality that we introduce. Furthermore, if there are any bugs or errors in the previously delivered application or software, we provide those services free of charge.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
Our primary focus is on the IT industry. We do have repeat customers, and the ratio of repeat clients is approximately 40%.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
Key objectives include creating wireframes and preparing designs.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
The time required largely depends on the complexity of the application. A simple application typically requires around 30 working days, while a very small application may be completed in 5-6 days. For more complex applications, we have been engaged in development for the past two years.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
There are four key parameters: (1) Security: Compliance with industry standards and data encryption capabilities are critical. Leading vendors such as Microsoft and PhoneGap meet these requirements. (2) Integrated Development Environment: Consider the available tools for app development and the resources your developers have at their disposal. (3) Integration with Third-Party Systems: Effective development platforms must integrate seamlessly with third-party tools throughout the application lifecycle. (4) Different App Types: Determine which mobile app development solution supports the necessary device types and operating systems for your targeted audience.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
I advocate for Native Development, as it allows for scalability as applications grow in complexity. Therefore, I recommend using Android Studio and Xcode for native development.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
I recommend Native development due to the ease of conducting new research and the availability of support from numerous forums, compared to hybrid solutions, which can complicate the implementation of new functionalities not readily available in the market.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
Key considerations include the application's complexity, the number of hours required, and the number of developers needed to complete the project.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We primarily utilize a Pay per Milestone structure with a fixed cost, and we also occasionally adopt a Pay per Feature model.
Do you take on projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Our minimum budget requirement is set at $1000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
In 2018, we undertook projects ranging from a minimum of $1000 to a maximum of $50000.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
To succeed in mobile applications, the paramount factor is user engagement. If a client develops a quality product with strong user engagement, their likelihood of failure diminishes considerably.
