Kindly share your feedback on how GameFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.

GameFirms plays a crucial role in generating new business opportunities, which fosters successful, long-lasting client relationships and the delivery of exceptional games.

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.

I am Iana Tkachenko, the Co-Founder & COO of Moonmana, a distinguished European Game Development and Art Production Studio dedicated to creating premium quality games for international clients. Over the past 14 years, we have developed games for industry leaders including Warner Brothers, Glu Mobile, Azerion, Saber Interactive, Laguna Games, Rollic, Gameforge, and Ruby Games, among others. Moonmana is honored to be recognized as a long-term partner among Forbes' TOP 13 List of the most valuable video game companies. We aim for sustainable growth with a workforce of over 70 full-time employees and a global presence across more than 6 countries, having successfully completed over 70 projects.

What is the story behind starting this company?

Moonmana was established in 2008 by two passionate individuals, Artyom Shpytiak and myself, Iana Tkachenko. This endeavor was a realization of our dream. Through synergistic collaboration, we combined our experience and knowledge to build a thriving company that has been committed to developing high-quality games for over 14 years. At the time of founding, Artyom was an experienced software developer, but his passion for game development led him to become an indie developer before establishing our company. Our initial success was achieved with our own IP, Pirates of Everseas, which generated $2 million. This milestone marked a pivotal moment for Moonmana. Artyom oversees the company’s strategy and production departments, while I manage the company's growth and customer success.

What is your company’s business model – in-house team or third-party vendors/outsourcing?

Moonmana operates under outsourcing and outstaffing models. Outsourcing involves clients hiring our company for specific development tasks or entire project scopes, from planning through to testing. Outstaffing entails hiring experienced professionals to work on projects managed by the client. Moonmana has offices in Poland and Spain, with a distributed team working from seven countries: Spain, Poland, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. We employ over 70 talented full-time team members.

How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?

We strive to provide exceptional high-quality services, supported by: a unique experience in developing our own intellectual properties, where our games have achieved significant financial success and top chart rankings; profound expertise and extensive experience, having been in the industry for over 14 years with more than 50 successful projects; and establishing long-term partnerships with notable clients like Warner Brothers, Glu Mobile, Azerion, Saber Interactive, and more. Our transparent working processes and active communication ensure clients are informed at every stage of the development cycle, coupled with high standards in project management and timely delivery to guarantee exceptional game development services.

What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

Our clientele includes game publishers hiring us for specific services and game studios collaborating with us on joint projects. Our clients feature in Forbes' TOP 13 List of the most valuable video game companies, and we take pride in being a long-term partner for prominent publicly listed companies. The majority of our clients are repeat customers, with 90% of our partners returning for additional projects. This loyalty is a testament to our constant pursuit of results, growth in expertise and knowledge, and alignment with the latest industry trends.

Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?

Moonmana is frequently sought after for full-cycle game development, engineering, and art production services. Our full-cycle game development includes: game design; 2D & 3D art; 2D & 3D animation; UI/UX design; engineering; and quality assurance. We cater to various game genres across multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, PC (Steam), Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?

We are dedicated to each project, going above and beyond to develop outstanding games characterized by stunning art, seamless gameplay, and regular updates. A key element of customer satisfaction is a thorough understanding of client needs; we achieve this by conducting meetings with leads, project managers, and clients before project initiation to clarify all aspects. Subsequent to this, we provide a detailed estimate describing each project phase. Throughout the development process, we organize daily or weekly meetings to collect and evaluate feedback.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?

We maintain constant communication with clients throughout the entire project lifecycle. In addition to daily and weekly internal briefings, we conduct regular calls with clients to collect feedback and ensure outcomes align with client expectations. We also discuss our customers’ future strategies to prepare for upcoming projects.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)

We offer various payment structures, allowing each client to select a model that best meets their requirements. Our options include Pay per Feature, Fixed Price, and Pay per Milestone. Occasionally, we combine multiple models at the client's discretion. Our goal is to remain flexible in order to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

We accept game development projects starting at $10,000. Project costs are influenced by several key factors, including art style, genre, desired features, the number of specialists involved, and the client’s timeline requirements.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?

In 2021, we worked on projects ranging from $10,000 to $500,000.

Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?

In the next decade, I envision Moonmana positioned among the top global game development companies. We are enthusiastic about engaging in the creation of best-in-class AAA games and plan to broaden our network of long-term partners while attracting additional skilled and talented professionals to our team.
