Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
We are Cyber Infrastructure (CIS), one of the most prominent IT solutions and services providers in Central India. As a CMMI Level 3 certified IT company, we provide high-quality and innovative technology solutions to help our clients achieve their respective business goals. We have a global footprint across five countries: India (our headquarters), USA, UK, South Africa, and Singapore. I, Abhishek Pareek, am the co-founder and CEO of Cyber Infrastructure. I oversee the corporate and financial development aspects for CIS and lead decisions and strategies that foster our growth.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
Our journey commenced in 2003 with a foundational idea aimed at assisting businesses of all sizes in achieving success through our ability to develop top-notch software solutions, provide exciting work opportunities to passionate technology talents, and contribute to the economic development of our country, India.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We maintain a large in-house team comprising over 650 employees and continually strive to enhance our workforce with skilled professionals. Our team is diverse, featuring experts across nearly every field of technology, including software developers, designers, digital marketing specialists, and virtual assistants, all dedicated to serving our clients.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Our in-house team allows us complete control over the quality of the solutions and services provided to clients. We adhere to well-defined, effective processes and practices in designing, developing, and delivering solutions, ensuring quality for every project we undertake.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We serve a wide array of industry domains, including education, travel, hospitality, fintech, retail and e-commerce, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, gaming, healthcare, and media and entertainment. Yes, we have a substantial percentage of repeat customers.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
The foremost parameter is the Scope of Work agreed upon by the client. Additionally, other important factors include the preferred technologies, targeted platforms such as mobile phones, tablets, and wearables, as well as the number of resources and their required experience.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
The effort required for developing the front end and back end is contingent upon the specific requirements of the application, particularly the richness of the user interface in terms of animations and the types of calculations needed on the server beyond simple database storage. Consequently, this varies from app to app. Given that users interact with the mobile app through graphics and animations, we attribute significant importance to the front end while estimating development time.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
The selection of platforms essentially rests with the client. However, if sought for suggestions, we assess the app's purpose, targeted countries or areas, audience type, and age demographics. Based on this analysis, we recommend the most suitable platforms for the app.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
In addition to the previous response, the primary criterion for selecting between iOS and Android is the platform's popularity among the targeted audience. It is advisable to choose the platform that has the largest user base. If the predominant users favor iOS, then we recommend iOS; otherwise, we suggest Android. In instances where both platforms have equal popularity, launching on both can also be a viable strategy.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Each platform presents its own advantages and disadvantages; therefore, the appropriate choice is dependent on the specific requirements of the app, its intended purpose, the target audience, and budget considerations. Our recommendations may vary based on these criteria, but we typically advocate for native technologies to fully leverage device resources, ensure smooth animations, and achieve vibrant designs and great controls, ultimately to leave a lasting impression on users.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
The cost of a mobile application is determined by two primary factors: a) the development duration, spanning from Planning and Requirement Analysis to Deployment and Maintenance, and b) the number of resources engaged during development. The former is influenced by the complexity of the app, while the latter depends on the client's requirements and any time constraints.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We offer three main payment structures to our clients based on the project type: 1. Project Basis (Fixed Price): This model is well-suited for clear requirements where scope can be precisely defined, allowing us to provide an accurate project estimate. Clients can opt for payments in installments linked to project milestones. 2. Dedicated Basis: This model is offered to clients seeking dedicated resources for their projects. Based on specific requirements, we provide optimal resources and assist in project planning. Clients can make payments on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, with flexibility for client convenience. 3. Hourly Basis: Clients can purchase hours in bulk for project work, which is particularly advantageous for maintenance tasks. In cases where clients request assistance on existing projects for maintenance, bug fixing, or feature enhancement, we employ this model, which is generally well-received by clients. These diverse payment options enable greater flexibility for various project types.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we accept projects with a minimum budget of $10,000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
The minimum price was $10,000 USD and the maximum price was $600,000 USD.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
We recommend various revenue-generating models to our clients based on their specific needs, app purpose, and audience demographics. Prominent business models include subscription-based access, commission-based models, advertising, and donations.
